Costs and payment
What does a Shopify store cost with you?
Launch is $8,900 + GST, Custom is $18,500 + GST, and Shopify Plus builds are quoted after a scoping call. See pricing for what each includes.
What will Shopify itself cost me each month?
Shopify bills you directly for your plan, and paid apps bill separately. Our guide to Shopify pricing in AUD has the current plan prices and card rates.
How do you take payment?
40% to book a start date, 40% at design approval and 20% at launch. Care plans are billed monthly in advance.
The build
How long does a build take?
Launch takes 4 to 6 weeks, Custom 8 to 10 weeks, and Plus 12 weeks and up. The biggest variable is how quickly product content and feedback come back.
Do we need product photos and copy ready?
Ideally, yes. We can load and tidy existing product data, and we can recommend photographers and copywriters, but we don't invent product information.
Can we edit the store without you?
Yes. We build with Shopify sections and blocks, and every project ends with a training session for your team.
Do you use templates?
Launch uses a premium Shopify theme, styled to your brand and set up properly. Custom is designed from a blank page and built as your own theme.
Moving platforms
Will we lose our Google rankings?
Not if the redirects and on-page details carry over properly, which is most of the work. See Shopify migrations.
Do customers need to create new accounts?
Customer records move, but passwords can't be transferred between platforms. Customers receive an invite to set a new password the first time they sign in.
Which platforms can you move from?
WooCommerce, Neto (Maropost), BigCommerce, Magento, Wix and Squarespace most often. See migrations for each.
Working with us
Who owns the store?
You do. The Shopify account, theme, domain and app accounts are in your name from the start.
Do you work outside Sydney?
Yes, with brands anywhere in Australia, and New Zealand brands selling into Australia.
What happens after launch?
Every build includes 30 days of priority fixes. After that you can take a care plan, buy hours when you need them, or run it yourself.
Are the stores on your site real clients?
No. They're concept stores we designed and built to show our work. Each has a write-up explaining the decisions behind it.
