We help Australian brands decide whether Shopify Plus is worth it, then build it properly with checkout customisation, wholesale, multiple markets and system integrations.

  • You sell to retail and wholesale customers from one catalogue, or to several countries.
  • You run NetSuite, Cin7 or another ERP and want orders and stock flowing without double entry.

What's included

  • Plus fit assessment, including an honest view on whether you need it
  • Checkout extensibility with checkout UI extensions and branding
  • Shopify Functions for custom discounts, delivery rules and payment rules
  • B2B setup with price lists, company accounts and payment terms
  • Shopify Markets for New Zealand, UK and US with local pricing
  • Integrations with NetSuite, Cin7, Xero or your 3PL
  • Staged launch plan and load testing for big sale days
  • Documentation and training for your team and other developers

What Shopify Plus adds

Shopify Plus is Shopify's enterprise plan. The main difference is control over the checkout and the surrounding systems. Plus merchants can customise checkout with checkout UI extensions, add custom delivery and payment rules with Shopify Functions, use Shopify Flow for more complex automation, run expansion stores, and get higher limits and priority support. Shopify Scripts, the older approach to custom checkout logic, was retired in mid-2026, so new work is built on Functions.

Plus also changes what we can build around the store. A wholesale portal with company accounts and price lists, a store for New Zealand with local pricing, an integration that writes orders into your ERP: all of these are possible on lower plans in part, and fuller on Plus. Shopify's native B2B tools have also opened to more plans than before, so check before assuming you need Plus for wholesale. We explain the differences in Shopify B2B and wholesale.

Plus is priced by Shopify, and the pricing model has changed over time, so we do not quote a figure here. We confirm current Plus pricing with you during scoping, since it is the largest ongoing cost of the project and should not be a surprise.

How a Plus project runs

  1. Step 1

    Step 1: Scoping call

We map your channels, systems, markets and peak trading periods, and decide which Plus features you will use. If you do not need Plus, we say so.

  2. Step 2

    Step 2: Architecture and quote

A written plan covering the theme, checkout, integrations, data flows and risks, with a fixed quote for the build. This is what the Plus package is based on.

  3. Step 3

    Step 3: Build in stages

Theme and catalogue first, then checkout, Functions and B2B, then integrations. You see working builds at each stage.

  4. Step 4

Step 4: Test and load test

We test orders end to end, including refunds, partial fulfilment and edge cases, and plan for sale-day traffic with a staged launch.

  5. Step 5

    Step 5: Launch and stabilise

A phased cutover, then close monitoring. Many Plus clients continue on Partner support so a team is on hand during the first big sale.

Is Shopify Plus worth it in Australia?

For many Australian brands the answer is no, not yet. Standard Shopify plans handle a lot of volume, and discount Functions work on every plan. The case for Plus is strongest when you need customised checkout steps, delivery or payment customisation by rule, multiple storefronts, deep B2B, or an integration pattern that standard limits get in the way of. Our longer take is in is Shopify Plus worth it in Australia.

If you are not sure, start on a lower plan and build properly. Moving up to Plus later is straightforward, and starting with a clean theme and sound data makes the move cheap.

Australian specifics on Plus

Australian Plus builds usually involve a mix of local requirements: GST-inclusive retail pricing and GST-exclusive wholesale, Afterpay and Zip at checkout, shipping with Australia Post, Aramex or StarTrack through a 3PL, and Xero or MYOB for accounts. New Zealand is often the first export market, handled through Shopify Markets with NZD pricing and the right tax and shipping settings; see selling to New Zealand.

Integration with your ERP is the part most likely to blow out a budget, so we scope it carefully. We prefer well-supported connectors where they fit and custom middleware only where they do not, and we write down who owns each data flow. More detail is in Shopify apps and integrations.

Pricing and timing

12 weeks and up

Shopify Plus builds are quoted under our Plus package, a fixed quote after a scoping call, starting from 12 weeks of work. Shopify's own Plus subscription is billed separately by Shopify. For ongoing work, Partner at $2,900 a month (excluding GST) gives you an in-house ecommerce team without hiring one, month to month.

Shopify Plus: common questions

How much does Shopify Plus cost in Australia?

Shopify sets Plus pricing and it has changed over time, so check Shopify's pricing page or ask us during scoping. Our build is quoted under the Plus package after a call. See Shopify pricing in AUD for how plan costs compare.

Do I need Shopify Plus to sell wholesale?

Not necessarily. Native B2B tools are available beyond Plus now, with some limits. Plus offers the fuller set. We check your requirements against the plans before recommending an upgrade.

What replaced Shopify Scripts?

Shopify Functions, together with checkout extensibility. Discount Functions are available broadly, while delivery and payment customisation and checkout UI extensions in the main steps need Plus. If you still rely on Scripts logic, we rebuild it on Functions.

Can you integrate Shopify Plus with NetSuite or Cin7?

Yes. We scope the data flows first, covering orders, stock, prices, customers and fulfilment, then choose a supported connector or custom middleware. We also integrate Xero and 3PLs.

How long does a Plus build take?

From 12 weeks. Duration depends on the number of integrations, markets and custom checkout features. We agree a timeline in the written plan before you commit.

Should I migrate to Plus or start on a standard plan?

If your requirements clearly need Plus features, start there. If not, start on a standard plan with a clean build and move up when you hit a real limit. The upgrade is simple when the foundations are sound.
