Concept store. Wine and liquor, Barossa Valley
A restrained winery store with an age gate and a wine club that runs itself.

The brief
Coolabah Cellars is a fictional Barossa winery, and this is a concept store designed by Laneway Commerce to show our work. It is not a client and we make no claims about results. The imagined brief: a family winery with a cellar door, a quiet online presence and a wine club it wants to grow, needing a store that handles alcohol compliance, tasting notes and mixed-case shipping properly.
A centred, unhurried layout
A single vineyard photograph sits behind a centred headline, and a classic serif gives it a cellar-door feel. Burgundy is used sparingly for the buttons and the footer band. Square corners and generous space make it feel like a printed label.
Product pages give tasting notes, vintage, alcohol percentage and food pairings before the price, since wine buyers read those first.
Age gate and compliance
An age gate asks visitors to confirm they are 18 or over before browsing, and checkout repeats the check. Sellers need the right liquor licence for the state they ship from, and each state has its own rules for delivery to the door. We built the store around those checks, which we cover in selling alcohol online with Shopify.
AgeChecker or a similar app can add stronger verification, and the delivery note asks carriers for an adult signature.
Wine club and shipping
The wine club is a subscription with a case size and a style choice, built with Shopify Subscriptions or Recharge. Members see a members-only price automatically. Mixed cases ship with Australia Post or StarTrack depending on weight, with a free shipping threshold at six bottles, and prices show GST inclusive.
