Concept store. Fashion, Byron Bay
A quiet, editorial Shopify store for a small-run linen label.

The brief
Marlowe Linen is a fictional womenswear label in Byron Bay, and this store is a concept designed by Laneway Commerce to show our work. It is not a client and we make no claims about sales or results. The imagined brief: a brand with a small, well-loved range, a loyal local following and a problem with returns caused by fit questions. It needs a store that feels like a magazine, sells sizes confidently and handles seasonal drops without the team touching code.
A full-bleed hero and a lot of white space
Linen is about texture and light, so the homepage leads with one large photograph and lets the typography do the rest. A serif display face with tight tracking gives it a magazine feel. Buttons are square and flat, and nothing is rounded or shadowed.
The product grid uses tall 4:5 crops so full-length pieces are not cut off, and the second image on each card shows the garment detail on hover.
Sizing that cuts down returns
Fit is the main reason people return clothing, so each product page links to a size guide with garment measurements, the model's height and the size she wears. We would build it with a metafield-driven table, so the team edits measurements in Shopify and not in code.
Kiwi Size Chart or a native metaobject table can power it. Back-in-stock alerts per size capture demand on small runs.
Australian specifics
Prices are shown GST inclusive, as the Australian Consumer Law requires. Afterpay and Zip appear on product pages and at checkout. Shipping uses Australia Post and StarTrack rates by weight, with a free threshold over $150 and a clearly set New Zealand zone through Shopify Markets.
The returns policy is written to sit alongside consumer guarantees. We cover this in our guide to returns policies.
