The brief

Wattle & Ash is a fictional native-botanical skincare brand, and this is a concept store designed by Laneway Commerce to show our work. It is not a client and we make no claims about results. The imagined brief: a small range with a clear story, shoppers who ask which products to buy together, and a need for a store that explains ingredients without feeling clinical.

Soft shapes, calm colour

Pill-shaped buttons, rounded image corners and a sage and cream palette make the store feel gentle. A high-contrast serif for headings gives it a considered tone, and a clean sans keeps ingredient lists easy to read.

A bundle builder instead of a quiz

Skincare shoppers often need help choosing. A three-step routine builder lets them pick one product per step, then applies a bundle discount. We would build it with Shopify Bundles so the discount works in the cart and at checkout, with no workaround.

Each product page lists ingredients with plain-language notes, and a metafield holds the full INCI list.

Australian specifics

Cosmetics sold in Australia fall under the industrial chemicals regulations and ACL labelling rules, and claims about treating skin conditions can push a product into therapeutic goods territory. Copy on the store sticks to cosmetic claims, and the team keeps a checklist for new product pages. Prices show GST inclusive and shipping rates use Australia Post parcel tiers.
